We have you sign a waiver paper that you will not use your receiver for scrambled channels. Satellite signal piracy is illegal and we do not support it at all. We do not provide or support the use of third party software. Using third party software may be illegal and void product warranty. Our satellite receivers are for legal FTA use only. We support only authorized factory software. In fact we don't do software at all. We get distributor/manufacturer to provide you the factory software usually. We cannot help you with parameters in your receiver other than the ones for the unscrambled channels. Null modem adapter, DB9 Female to DB9 Female. NOTE: A null modem switches the receive and transmit wires. When any two devices (such as a computer and a receiver) talk to each other, the transmit wire of one needs to go to the receive wire of the other. Many devices that know they'll be attached to a PC already have their Tx/Rx wires swapped. Others are wired exactly the same as a PC so that the two Tx wires are on the same pin #/connection and the two Rx wires are on the same pin #/connection. This isn't going to work.
Since most 9-pin serial cables are straight-through, your best approach is to buy a small connector called a "null modem" that swaps the wires for you. This way if your receiver was made for a straight-through, you're fine. If you need to swap the data lines plug the null modem connector between the cable and one of the ports.
